I frequently give public talks on topics in the history of reading, with a special focus on the relationship between reading and health.

Sample Talks I’ve given have included:

  • “Books as Medicine: A History of Bibliotherapy”

I have also given talks on the history of self-help literature, the therapeutic uses of fiction, and the practice of bibliotherapy today.
